Christmas 2006
I’m stuck in Calgary with a delayed connection (4.5 hours late), but luckily they seem to have free wifi, so I can complain about it. Oh and they gave me a 12 dollar voucher, so I can have a nice meal (you can’t use the voucher on booze, I checked it out). 12 dollars? Oh well. Finished watching ‘The Class’ tv shows for this season so far, which was pretty funny. Battlestar and 30Rock for the plane I guess…
I had an awesome visit back to Vancouver. Showed up a week earlier than planned for work, and managed to hide it from the parents. My sister invited them over for dinner at her place and I was there, they were shocked! Work was fine and I stayed at the airport Fairmont which was pretty cool. Paul Martin was behind me when I was checking out (until they noticed and opened another wicket him). That was cool, I felt bad for him, but he seemed over the whole election thing (I didn’t ask).
Then I jammed as much of my favorite Vancouver things into my vacation time. Did a couple poker nights at Gords, attended the annual Vancouver gang christmas party, did Christmas in Langley, stayed at my old apartment housesitting, drove my old car, went to Ucluelet, and caught up with friends. It was a blast, and it seems both long and short. It was great to be back in town and see y’all!!
No resolutions for 2007. Looking forward to Nepal in April, now I can start freaking out about that. Some gigs coming up in Shepherd’s bush to see this month, not much else planned. I hope you all had a great Christmas and a very happy new year!!
